Took my car to the garage today as it has started to bunny hop when the engine reaches normal running temp. Whilst in the garage the mech reved the engine for a while and it started to smell of rotten eggs. Catalitic converter? He put the computer on it and it said that the fuel mixture was too rich. this was a local garage so he was not too sure what the fault code cause was. has anyone got any ideas? This was not the exact wording and I have forgotten the code that came up. I can get hold of this tomorrow. dudenhöfer

My Mood:
It does sound like the engine is over-fueling. I take it the air filter has been checked for blockages. If all OK in that respect then check for a faulty engine coolant temp sensor which can cause over-fueling when the engine is hot - hence the rotten egg odour from the exhaust.

If the coolant system is stone cold and not presurised you should be able to make quick swap but be prepared for spillage.
